Recover the system

You need to restore DGX OS on a Spark, because the install is broken or you want a clean slate.

Do not use the enterprise DGX recovery path

The DGX Spark uses a different recovery process from enterprise DGX systems. Do not use the Enterprise Download Center or a DGX OS ISO. Those are for the rack-scale DGX line and will not work here.

The right source

The Spark recovery image is published on developer.nvidia.com and does not require an enterprise account. Download it from there, then follow the steps in NVIDIA’s System Recovery documentation.

General shape

1. Download the recovery image from developer.nvidia.com.
2. Prepare the recovery media as the System Recovery guide describes.
3. Boot the Spark into recovery and reflash.
4. Walk through first-time setup again, exactly as on a new box. See the first boot tutorial.

For routine updates, you do not need recovery

Day-to-day OS and component updates are handled through the normal update path, not a reflash. See NVIDIA’s OS and Component Update guide. Reach for recovery only when an update path is no longer viable.
